Pirates look to improve their shooting

The Cotopaxi High School boys basketball team hopes to improve its shooting, especially from the free-throw line, when it resumes play on Jan. 4 at Kim/Branson.

The Pirates, 4-1 overall and 1-0 in District 6 League play, are shooting just 53 percent from the charity stripe. Their shooting from the field also needs to improve; they are making 39 percent of their field goals.

“We need to come back from break, practice hard and shoot our free-throws being tired to simulate a game,” Pirates coach Matt Schwindt said. “Same thing with our field-goal shooting.”
